Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Implementation: Develop and implement network designs that meet organizational needs, ensuring scalability and security using technologies from Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
Network Administration: Manage and maintain the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other hardware components from various vendors.
Monitoring Performance: Continuously monitor network performance and integrity using appropriate tools to ensure reliability and efficiency.
Incident Resolution: Diagnose and resolve network incidents promptly. Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues and implement containment actions.
Process Improvement: Analyze current processes related to network operations, create new processes as needed, and reconfigure connection points to enhance performance.
Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all network processes, configurations, and changes as part of an ongoing project to ensure clarity and compliance.
Software Upgrades: Plan and execute software upgrades for network systems to maintain security standards and improve functionality.
Hardware Configuration: Configure and install network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet, ensuring proper integration with existing systems and functionality.
Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align network strategies with business objectives.
Knowledge Requirements: Utilize knowledge in Linux systems administration and AWS services as needed for effective network management.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in network design, implementation, and administration. Familiarity with incident resolution processes is essential.
Technical Skills:
    Proficiency in configuring and managing networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) from Cisco, Juniper, and Fortinet.
    Experience with monitoring tools for assessing network performance.

               Familiarity with AWS services related to networking (e.g., VPC, Direct Connect).
    Knowledge of Linux operating systems.

Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform root cause analysis effectively.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation purposes and collaboration with team members.

Working Conditions

Normal working hours with an on-call rotation for standby support.
